Nitty Music, one of the talented students of these music education centers, participated with his cello in one of the concerts, accompanied by his teacher Maite Galarza. Together, they created a beautiful and touching interpretation of the famous piece “Lightly Row”, an arrangement by Shinichi Suzuki of the German folk song “Hänschen klein”.
The history behind this song is fascinating, as it originally spoke of a young man who ventured into the world and returned as a man to his family. However, over time, the version of the lyrics changed and an abbreviated textual version was adopted that became one of the first songs taught to young children, either at home or in kindergarten.
Today, “Lightly Row” is considered one of the most popular children’s songs worldwide, used in various versions and adaptations to teach children the fundamentals of music and singing.
The melody of this song is also used in the simple Mother Goose rhyme “Lightly Row”, and other versions include children’s songs “Little bird, have you heard” and “Baby-bye, there’s a fly”, which are in turn related to the song “Warm Kitty” (which became famous as “Soft Kitty” in the American comedy The Big Bang Theory).
In conclusion, the concert organized by Málaga Violín Suzuki, Cordes Espai Educatiu de Alboraya and Aula Suzuki de Buñol was a great success, a unique and exciting experience that brought together talented musicians and music students from all over the country, with the aim of sharing their love and passion for music with the world.
